Although it wasn't our main destination in Silver Lake, we went to visit Little Sable Point, a third visit for Jim and I (See Trip to Manistee, and 5 Year "Silver Lake" Anniversary)and just as overcast as the other times. Shari made a friend of a Chocolate Lab dog who was one day short of 13 weeks. Her name was Bijou, and she was capturing all the attention of any passerby interested in dogs, such as Shari. Bijou liked the attention of her new "playmates." Of course, this made it a longer trek to the car for the mother and daughter with Bijou.
Jim stayed outside and walked along the pier while Shari and I went in. We met the caretaker, Karen, who has been at the lighthouse for 22 years. Shari and I went up to the tower and we could see Jim walking. Since it is a museum , we were able to explore all the way down to the basement level. When we returned to the main level, we chatted with Karen before leaving and meeting Jim along the pier.
This page is titled that we went from "Silver Lake to South Haven," but all we did in South Haven is eat dinner. The photo of the lighthouse is from 2003.
